You can take some of these simple steps below to help prevent further damage before a technician arrives:

Turn off the water supply. Stop the source of the flood to keep the damage from spreading – most sources of water in your home or business have shut-off valves that can be turned off. If the source of water can’t be turned off ask us to bring one of our plumbers as well.

 

Move items on the floor away from the wet area. Water travels rapidly through carpeted rooms – areas that aren’t wet now could have water under them in a very short period of time.

 

Reduce Damage to furniture and carpet. Place folded aluminum foil or small squares of plastic under the legs of wooden furniture resting on your wet carpets. Use plastic bags or plastic lids under the legs of wooden furniture to keep water from soaking into and ruining the furniture, and to keep the stain in the wood from running into and ruining the carpet.
